depends where you are in florida but the ocean has a big effect on the weather you have the gulf of mexico which is a source of WARM air and the waters are warm and keep the ground warm near it ...
this has a moderating affect on the temperature..
I live in an area called niagara falls in canada we are one of the only areas in canada that can grow tender fruit thats peaches and pears and plums cherries this is because the trees cant stand it toooo cold or they die the point of that is we live near a LAKE its a fairly deep lake but not as much as an ocean and the water keeps the temperature mild in winter.. that is the same that the gulf of mexico is doing for you..
there is also a water current that is warm I forget the name of it but i think it travels near the tip of florida and it is very warm water it would also contribute to keeping your temperature warm...
