-Yes, local news stations, RACES/ARES organizations, and the National Weather Service all use spotter and chaser reports. Even with todays advanced technology, nothing can see what is going on under the storm cloud base except the people who go out and make reports.......
Spotters as in people who go out after a tornado watch has been issued. And look for funnel clouds. Just wondered if that's still done,considering we have more technology today,than say in 1979. When the Wichita Falls tornado hit.
