Because we still dont understand how we were created. For all we know, life may really be as rare as one planet in the universe, or it may be so common that we were the garbage of some other intelligent race.-Thanks for the question. It is correct that majority of life forms are simple.......
I heard that simple forms of life would be common in the universe but complex, intelligent life like us would be rare.
Do you think there is any intelligent life out there in the universe?

We still don't know how common or rare life is because we don't know how it was created and how hard it is to replicate this process through natural means. Because we still don't understand how we were created. For all we know, life may really be as rare as one planet in the universe, or it may be so common that we were the garbage of some other intelligent race.

Thanks for the question. It is correct that majority of life forms are simple. It is strange that we humans didn't originate from earth. We are aliens. Our planet's age is not enough to create higher life form. So it is obviously true that life does exist in somewhere else in the universe. Sir S.Hawkins said that it wouldn't be wise to try to contact them because they might be more developed than us and harm us. Goodluck

On the sheer vastness of the Universe, rare is relative. Even if only 0.001% of life is intelligent, out of all the planets where life is possible in the entire Universe, I'd say the possibilities of intelligent life existing are very high.

^If not certain. They could be a few stars away and we might not know it, considering the sheer distance from us and the spreading factor for light.

That sounds right.
