Who first discovered that we feel pain because of our skin

Who were/was the first people/person to discover that skin and pain are related? Meaning the relationship of skin with feeling pain, also can we feel pain with skin?

there would be no answer to that because even animals know they can feel pain with skin. So i guess the first multicellular organism with skin discovered it.

Yes we feel pain through our skin with sensory nerve receptors.
