After ovulation the other follicles that didnt mature enough to be released are degenerated and reabsorbed. If pregnancy does not occur within 10 days after ovulation, the corpus luteum also starts degenerating and its hormonal output ends (progesterone & estrogen). If the egg is fertilized then the corpus luteum keeps secreting its hormones until the placenta is ready to take over in about 3 months.......
1. does the your pituitary gland keep producing follicle even after the follicle have released the egg? and is that because they want more corpus luteum even after the egg released?

2. is the fertilized egg still getting estrogen and progesterone form the corpus luteum even before it plants itself in the uterus walls?

No once ovulation has occurred, and the egg has been released the gonadotropins (FSH and LH) are suppressed (stopped) by gonadal hormone (GnRH). After ovulation the other follicles that didn't mature enough to be released are degenerated and reabsorbed. If pregnancy does not occur within 10 days after ovulation, the corpus luteum also starts degenerating and its hormonal output ends (progesterone & estrogen).

If the egg is fertilized then the corpus luteum keeps secreting its hormones until the placenta is ready to take over in about 3 months.

I hope this is more clear to you now:)
