I don't mean bible six day creationism but the idea that god created one life form to evolve in to all the life forms we see today. Since the design for all of life would be int the first cell according to this idea that means that god would have created all the animals.
And there is evidence for this idea from our main sources of data. The fossil record and genetics.
The fossil record clearly shows mostly stasis and then sudden change. Just what you would expect if it was designed to change. Like puberty comes relatively suddenly. It doesn't develop though out your life. Or the change in to butterfly happens suddenly. Functional changes usually happen suddenly. Where as changes like gaining muscle or fat might take a long time because these are adaptive changes. Btw the idea of sudden change is a mainstream evolutionary idea. An idea from someone who should know. A paleontologist. Paleontology is the only evidence for the rate of change. And this idea is from Stephen J Gould. One of the most respected paleontologist. He doesn't believe in creationism but I think his theories point to that.
All life share about 50% of there DNA. That means that the Universal common ancestor that all life on earth now shares, had this 50% of the DNA. This is what you would expect from a design. If you take tow computers running on windows vista after a few years you would get enough changes to the system that the two users have made to be a significant change. However if the changes in life forms came through random mutations you would expect nothing to be in common between most of the major species. Also most of the differences between different animals are a case of cut and pasting of whole genes. just what you would expect from a design.
If you say that there is no god that means the reason why you don't believe this is possible is because you don't believe in god despite of the evidence. In other words you believe in Darwinism because you are an atheist.
