How to make the switch work on a flashlight

I would use one of those spring-steel clamps to simply hold the two wire-ends, where the switch is to go, and simply hold the two ends (with a short piece of insulation removed from both ends) together and using the handles on the clip to open the clip, then place the wires in the clip and release the handles. This will be crude, but effective.......
Okay, so i need help making my built flashlight turn on and off. I don't know what to connect it to so can someone please help me figure out what to connect it to. I built the switch with aluminum foil and I'm using 2 D Duracell batteries and two wires also.

Not really knowing what your problems are, it will be hard for anyone to give you a correct answer.

However, you must connect the switch in one of the wires going to the lamp holder. If I were making a switch, I would use one of those spring-steel clamps to simply hold the two wire-ends, where the switch is to go, and simply hold the two ends (with a short piece of insulation removed from both ends) together and using the handles on the clip to open the clip, then place the wires in the clip and release the handles.

This will be crude, but effective.
