it is v ez

x^2/3 -3x^1/3-18= 0

let y = x^1/3

y^2 - 3y - 18 =0
(y -6) (y+3) = 0
y = 6 or y = -3

x^1/3 = 6
x = 6^3 = 216 ---answer
x^1/3 = -3
x = (-3)^3 = - 27 ---answer

To simplify the equation, you have to remove the fractional exponent.
Raise both side of the equation to the power of 3

[x^2/3 -3x^1/3-18= 0]^3 (you just multiply 3 to the exponent)
you will be left with:
x^2 - 3x - 5832 = 0

are you asked to solve for x or just to simplify the equation?
