102=p-(-130)
and this one too 27=h+(-8)

102=p-(-130) well, just add a negative 130 to both sides and...
-28=p or
p = -28

27=h+(-8) well, just subtract a negative 8 to both sides and...
35 = h or
h = 35

olivia and her cds...well, i'll be...
olivia has 43 of the suckers including grand funk, bootsy's rubber band, capt beefheart, flamin lips and bach. angela doesn't own as many. as a matter of fact, she has 15 less than olivia. most of hers are disney soundtracks. so...

43-15 = 28

For the first one, the two negatives cancel out, so it's p+130.

102=p+130
p=-28

For the second one h + a negative is really h-whatever number.

So h+(-8) is really h-8

27=h-8
h=35

1. P=-28

2. H=35

102 = p + 130
102 - 130 = p + 130 - 130
-28 = p

27 = h - 8
27 + 8 = h - 8 + 8
35 = h
