A speed of 60 mi/h is equal to the speed of 88 ft/s. Find the speed to the nearest mile per hour of an aircraft traveling 1000 ft/s.

-
60 is to 88 as x is to 1000
1000 times 60 divided by 88
681 mph

-
Assuming the first statement is correct, use proportions:
60/88 = 15/22
15/22 = x/1000

-
The speed of the aircraft is 681.818181 mph. The .81 on the end is continous, rounded off, it's 682 mph.

-
1 mile = 5280 ft

1000 ft / s = {[1000/5280] miles }/[1 /3600hours] =681.818 MPH = 682 MPH
