Why should you divide Circumference by diameter

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-10-21] [Hit: ]
Simply explained, the circumference of a circle can be measured as 2 π radius( of circle), or simply π times the diameter.π (read as pi) is a mathematical constant that is the ratio of any circles circumference to its diameter. π is approximately equal to 3.π is an irrational number and a transcendental number.......
Hi,

I am really angry about why one should divide Circumference by Diameter to get Pi.

Please let me know the reason and also any links.

I will choose the best answer

One can think of it another way actually.

If you go by the angular displacement of the arc with respect to the center of the circle, there is angle of 360 degrees or 2 π radians;-

where an angle of 1 radian results in an arc with a length equal to the radius of the circle.

Simply explained, the circumference of a circle can be measured as 2 π radius( of circle), or simply π times the diameter.

π (read as pi) is a mathematical constant that is the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter. π is approximately equal to 3.14

π is an irrational number and a transcendental number. There is no polynomial with rational coefficients for which π is a root. So far people have estimated the value of 'Pi' to trillions of digits after the decimal point.

Pi is a number that crops up in many diverse areas of mathematics.

Pi is actually defined as being the length of the circumference of a circle divided by the length of the diameter of the same circle.

If we let circumference be C and its diameter be d then we are saying:

C is proportional to d. Hence:

C = a constant* d the constant is given the Greek symbol pi

C = pi*d

Pi is equal to approximately 3.141 592 65 to 8 decimal places. In fact all values of pi can only be approximations because pi is an irrational number. Its decimal expansion goes on forever without ever repeating itself.

Circumference = pi * diameter -----formula for computing circumference

or if you compute for pi that is pi = circumference / diameter
but seldom is pi computed since it is constant as 3.1416 and is simply a ratio (22/7).

-
Circumference was not divide by Diameter to get Pi.
The relation between thediameter and circimference was found out as π and is being used

-
Pi x Diameter = circumfrence

Circumfrence divided by diameter equal pi because the diameters cancel out
