Is -0.6 less than or greater than -0.56 (rational numbers)

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-11-16] [Hit: ]
I figured it out in the same way as is 10 less than or greater than 20.Place them on a number line.-It is smaller than as it is the equivlant of 0.6 and that is a smaller number than 0.......
How did you figure it out?

-
0 is considered the 'origin' .. positive numbers RISE from zero (and are 'greater than'), negative numbers FALL from zero (and are 'less than')

Thus, a bigger negative number (one further from zero) is always 'less than' a smaller negative number (one closer to zero) .

It's less.

I figured it out in the same way as "is 10 less than or greater than 20".

Place them on a number line.

It is smaller than as it is the equivlant of 0.6 and that is a smaller number than 0.58 sorry about my previous answer :L
