S=P+Prt

Solve for r,

PLEASE ALSO EXPLAIN. Love you guys! lol

-
THE TRICK IS TO KEEP terms with ' r ' on one side and all other terms on the opposite side

S = P + Prt

SUBTRACT P from both sides

Prt = S - P

DIVIDE BOTH SIDES BY Pt

r = ( S - P ) / Pt ANSWER

-
we can factor out P

S=P(1+rt)

S/P=1+rt

subtract 1

S/P-1=rt

divide by t

(S/P-1)/t=r

-
Prt = S - P
r = S/Pt - 1/t
