Eukaryotes are cells that have a nucleus. Animal cells and plant cells are common examples. Prokaryotes are cells that.. Don't. Cells such as bacteria cells do not have a difinitive nucleus.

They can be compared and seen using a microscope. They use a special dye to stain any present nuclei.

Can't remember the difference between pro and eukaryotes? Think Eukaryot as a "you-carry-it". You have these cells. And pro? Well they don't (:

the simplest answer to this is the size of the cell

eukr are much larger than prok when view under the microscope (if dye is unavailable) they are about 100x larger.

if dyeing agent is available (such as dextran) nucleus would be visible as purple-blue pigment.

keyword here is cellular compartmentalization which can provide cellular organelles and proks lacks those organelles.
