Easy math question (10 pts)

The answer would be 211/10 = 21.1 Since .1 slice cannot be given, the answer is 21.B. Again,......
Every Monday, at Capri Pizza, lucky customers can get free slices of pizza and free soda. Every 10th customer gets a free plain slice of pizza and every 12th customer gets a free cup of soda. On the first Monday of March, Capri Pizza had 211 customers.

A. How many free pizza slices were given away?

B. How many cups of soda were given away? When Jackie came to Capri Pizza, the owner told her she was the first customer to get both free items. What number customer was she? How many other customers (from the 211 customers) would also get both free items?

C. Suppose the owner also decides to give away a free bag of potato chips to every 7th customer. Would any of the 211 customers be lucky enough to get all three free items?

Thanks.

A. The answer would be 211/10 = 21.1 Since .1 slice cannot be given, the answer is 21.

B. Again, the answer would be 211/12 = 17.58. Again the answer is 17.
Assuming she was the nth customer,

n = LCM of 10, 12 = 60th customer.

No. of people who would get both free items (including Jackie) = 211/60 = 3, so 2 people other than Jackie get both items free.

C. No, the first such person would be the LCM of 7, 10, 12

7 = 7*1
10 = 2*5
12 = 2*2*3

Ans C = 2*2*5*3*7 = 430. Hence, no one will get all 3 items free

Write the numbers 1 to 211. Circle the 10th numbers and but a square around every 12th number.

Count the circle and squares to answer A and B. Then count the number of times a number is circled and squared to complete B.

C. Do the same for chips only use a triangle and count the triples (i.e., the number of times a number is circled, squared and triangled, so to speak.

A=21
B (Part 1)= 17
B (Part 2)=3
C=No

-
A>21
B>17,60th,3 others
C>none
