Percentage math question

ok if my financial aid was 1100 for spring semester and I've gotten 550 of it and then i dropped a class so it drops my aid by 15%, how much will i get in second half of semester? so 15% off of 1100

1. in total u will received 1100 ,
2. u gotten 550 from 1100 then the balance is 550
3. droop class so you will lose 15% out of the balance 550.
4. my answer shoul be 550 x 15% = 467.50

You would have received 550 in each semester if you had attended all classes

Now you will get 550 X 85/100 = 467.50 ANSWER
