I want to get the Sum of squared errors on my calculator but when I type in the data in list one and two and do linear regression to get the resid list and I go to my third list and press F3 to get to lists then I press names and scroll down to STATVARS and check it and then press resid and then square it, it says error data type.I don't know what I've been doing wrong so can you please give me step by step instructions on how I can solve this problem?

It looks like you are trying to put a list in a single cell in the editor.
Have you tried moving to the right to where the resid list is displayed?
If it is not there, move all the way to the right and move the cursor to the list heading, and then do the F3 procedure. That should put the resid list in the editor.
