Momentum and Collisions question? If a moving marble collides with a still object..

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-14] [Hit: ]
so 2nd marble would move at 2m/s-Assuming an ideal environment, the other marble would also move at 2m/s.0.02kg X 2m/s=0.speed=(0.02 X 2) / 0.......
If a moving marble going 2 m/s collides with a still object then stops and the other marbles starts moving in the same direction how fast is the second marble moving?
their masses are both 0.02 kg...

-
if collision is elastic then

m1v1=m2v2
m1=m2, so v1=v2

so 2nd marble would move at 2m/s

Assuming an ideal environment, the other marble would also move at 2m/s.
0.02kg X 2m/s=0.02kg X speed
speed=(0.02 X 2) / 0.02
Speed= 2 m/s
