I got the speed to be 4.64 and the direction to be 37.1 degrees south of east. But i know for sure the direction is wrong. Can someone please help with that? thank you :)

You messed up your visualization somehow or inverted the tangent calculation somewhere.. punch tan^-1(2.8/3.7) into the calculator. to get 37.1 degrees east of south.

To get south of east you need to punch tan^-1(3.7/2.8)

Adjacent is always going to be the line following a cardinal direction at the place where the segments meet to form an angle for vector analysis.
