2 x 2.but.........
How much work is done by friction by pulling a 385 kg box at 57.2° anlge for 2.60 m? The force applied is 215.

answer in J

-
we need to know the coefficient of friction or if the box is moving at constant velocity; if it is moving at constant velocity, there is no net force and thus no net work on the box

the work done by friction will be equal magnitude and opposite in sign to the work done by the pulling force, which is

W done by pulling force = 215 cos 57.2 x 2.60m

but...this is the negative of friction if and only if the box moves at constant velocity
