Its thunder storming and I think but I'm not sure there is a tornado watch. My dad is in the garage I want to hang out with him but would be it safe to run to the garage and if I hear a siren run to the house? I don't want to get struck by lighting.

Yes, as long as you are sheltered from the storm, you will be safe. If the weather should get severe enough that you need to seek better shelter, then yes, go into the house and seek a sturdy shelter.
