If someone were to create a universe, where would they put it

-Where would be an irrelevant question when referring to creating a universe.A universe is its own reality and space and time, so, the position is irrelevant. Also, if it continued to expand then wed be in some big trouble,......

But don't worry. Even with the best optimism, we are still centuries from creating any kind of new universe. It is even possible that we might need to understand how our own got started, before we even have a clue about doing this in reality... instead of writing about it in science magazines.

"Where" would be an irrelevant question when referring to creating a universe. A universe is its own reality and space and time, so, the position is irrelevant.

Also, if it continued to expand then we'd be in some big trouble, unless we could somehow live inside it. The question is, is it even possible to create a universe within a universe. That seems to be a dangerous thing to attempt. I don't see how space can exist in space and time within time. I'm pretty sure many paradoxical effects would arise as well and the mathematics to understand how the physics of a universe within a universe exists would be dizzying. Although hypothetical, the mathematical model would be fun to try to figure out.

And we all know what happens when we divide by 0. :P

I think they were referring to their Saturday night D&D gameuniverse... (bah-dum-bum!)

But seriously, spawning a new Universe could happen right now between your eyes and your computer monitor, and you would never know it- because it "pinched off" into another dimensional space.

It would be like our universe is a soap bubble being blown out of a bubblemaker, and a new one is another bubble forming within it- our bubble shifts away, and the two bubbles have a divide between them, and then they go their separate ways.

Since the new universe is its own dimensional space/time reality, it has no business/place within ours.

A Big Bang in between your face and the monitor would be rather messy, afterall. :)

Well no one know how big a universe is. What if we are in a test tube inside a bigger universe and so on. It would create problems if some intelligent race had a way of inter universal travel but I think that's it.

-
No it wouldn't! Since another universe isn't a part of our universe, it wouldn't be any problem of storage, since it isn't in our universe!

-
It probably would be in a digital universe, since that's where it's likely to be created, certainly not in our physical universe. No way, no chance, anyhow!

-
Mine looks nice on the coffee table, but you're right about it causing problems. Last week Uncle Fergus put his big feet up and wrecked three whole star systems, one of which had a nice civilization going on the fourth planet.

Creating such a Universe is never a problem with my Girlfriend!

with the infinite other universes out there. Ours is hypothasised to be one of an unlimted amount of universes.
