If a transit is said to egress what does this mean? (In respect to planets)

It is when the black disc of Venus or Mercury, which is moving across the disc of the sun, finally leaves the disc.

When a transit takes place, either of Venus or Mercury, we watch it cross the disc of the Sun. At the point where it is no longer against the background of the Sun and comes out of transit, it is called the egress. The same term is used for occultation or eclipse. Loosely, it is the point at which the transit is completed.
