The end-of-the-Mayan-calendar is a lie. It was invented in 1987 by José Argüelles. José simply took a round figure in the day-count calendar and pretended that the calendar would end on that round figure. It will not. This was just as stupid as pretending that our own calendar would end on the year 2000 because that is a round figure.

When the Planet-X charlatans used José's lie to set the date of the Big 2012 Hoax, the given date for the round figure was Dec. 21, 2012. Now, we know that he even got that wrong, and that he might even be off by decades (maybe even more than 50 years).

But it does not matter as the Mayan calendar does not end. Real Mayans, because they still exist, know that it does not end. We even found ancient inscriptions where the calendar was used to tell dates that fall after the year we call 4000.

I am sure that lots of things will happen in space on October 28. And on October 29. And on October 30. And ...

The end of the world is mainly based on your beliefs. I'm a Christian so I believe no one knows when the end of the world is (Matthew 24:36). No one knows, not even the Son or the angels, only the Father knows. The Mayan calendar is also interpreted in different ways. Some people believe the world would end on that day. Others think the Mayans just got too tired making a calendar that would extend for hundreds or thousands more years. What's the point? So my point of view on this is they just got tired and stopped the calendar.
