What eyepiece do i need for my telescope

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-10-20] [Hit: ]
The problem with short focal length eyepieces like this is that they have a very short eye relief, which means that you have to cram your eye in really close to see the whole field, which can be uncomfortable. There are modern eyepieces which fix this problem, but they tend to be a bit expensive.http://www.......
i have a meade etx-70 and i want a stronger eyepiece so i could look at things bigger and stuff thats farther away. any suggestions?

The main problem you are going to run into with the ETX-70 is with its very small aperture (diameter of front lens). Realistically, this puts an upper limit on your magnification of around 70x, or an eyepiece with a 5mm focal length. Get the eyepiece I recommended. It will also be extremely useful on the Lightbridge 10".

If you want to see things bigger (appear bigger or in other words get higher magnification) then go with a shorter eyepiece, such as an 8mm or 10mm. HOWEVER getting a shorter eyepiece and magnifying, will NOT allow you to see fainter objects or see things that are further away. For that you need a telescope with a larger diameter, or a darker location.
