How does mitosis relate to cancer? How is cancer caused and what effects does it have on the cell cycle?
mitosis is the process of cell division and cancer is caused by cells that keep on dividing uncontrollably. It's effect on the cell cycle is that there is no G1 phase and it doesn't go through apoptosis, or programmed cell death. This means that the cell is basically immortal and the tumor will keep growing

What are stem cells and explain their importance to biotechnology?
Stem cells are undifferentiated embryonic cells. this means that these cells can become any kind of cell in the body. For example, if you put a stem cell in the heart, that cells gonna become a heart cell and it's going to divided into more heart cells. the same goes if you were to put the stem cell in a muscle or a bone. Importance to biotechnology is that it can help with treatment of cancer, regeneration of nerve cells, or help with replacing amputated limbs

Compare Lamarck and Darwin AND their theories of evolution.
Lamarck's theory of evolution was that individuals passed on acquired traits. this means that if a guy was ripped and had lots of muscles, then his offspring would come out already ripped with a lot of muscles. Darwin's theory was natural selection and it was survival of the fittest. the theories are kind of related in the sense that with Darwin's theory, those who could acquire certain traits were able to reproduce offspring who are more likely to develop the same if not more prominent traits that will help them reproduce as well.

hope this helps :)
