I'm doing a research project and I'm coming up with ways of how cancer cell grow could be reduced.
Monitoring the activity of transcription factors and decipher which ones are oncogenic. Then via a series of trial and errors use various compounds which could be possible inhibitors. These inhibitors may have side effects so proper research is required.
Like how prokaryotes have repressors ingrained in their genome e.g lacI which prevents the encoding of lac genes. Ingrain a human repressor into the human genome preventing the production of oncogenic transcription factors?

You don't think there are thousands of people already working on questions like that?
How do you think you even know that there are transcription factors and that some play a role in cancer? It's not that this knowledge fell from heaven. People did experiments and found this out. Which means you think of those experiments because they already have been done and are still being done.
BTW: you can easily change your exposure to sun or use sun screen in order to reduce your likelihood to get cancer.It is also pretty easy to be aware that smoking causes cancer and not to start smoking (it might be harder to quit if you already started due to the addictive nature of nicotine). You can control much of your environment!
