0.293 mol Ne(g), and 0.294 mol Ar(g) is confined in a vessel of constant volume and temperature and a total pressure of 2.92 atm. calculate the partial pressure in atm of He gas.......
how do you do this???

A mixture containing 0.598 mol He(g). 0.293 mol Ne(g), and 0.294 mol Ar(g) is confined in a vessel of constant volume and temperature and a total pressure of 2.92 atm. calculate the partial pressure in atm of He gas.

answer is 1.47E0 atm

-
Partial Pressure = X * P(total)

Note: X = n1/ntotal

In this equation n1 = 0.598 mol He

So n total = 1.185 mol

P(total) = 2.92 atm

Partial Pressure = 0.598/1.185 x 2.92 atm = 1.47 atm
