How much Electricity do they make???

How could I make one from home from scratch......

They use a moving coil of wire in a magnetic field.

You can't, not without a good machine shop, many years of experience, and thousands of dollars. Much easier to buy one. You can find them at scrap yards.

They generate usually 15 volts at a max current between 100 and 400 amps, depending on the model. That's 1.5 kW to 6 kW.
