Like there woukd be a question and it would say factor 16a^4 - 15a^4 how would you factor it?? I understand how factoring is used in the quadratic equations, but how would you solve a problem like this??

-
First factor out the a^4 and you would get a^4(16-15), then subtract inside the parentheses to get a^4(1) which equals a^4

-
You just subtract like terms to simplify the expression:
16a⁴ - 15a⁴ = a⁴
