Help with a math problem

but I believe by the standard representation they mean the expansion of 11^7.the standard representation of 11^2 is 121,11^3 = 1331, sum: 8.11^4 = 14641, sum: 16.......
What is the sum of the digits in the standard representation of 11^7?

I'm confused by what standard representation means. -.-"

its just asking what is the sum to all the digits in the answer to 11^7.
11^7 = 19487171
add them all together and you get 38

I have never encountered this kind of problems before, but I believe by the standard representation they mean the expansion of 11^7. ie;

the standard representation of 11^2 is 121, therefore the sum is 1+2+1 = 4

11^3 = 1331, sum: 8.
11^4 = 14641, sum: 16.
...

So if I'm not mistaken, the pattern for this sum (Sn) of 11^n is

Sn = 2^n.

Therefore to your particular problem, Sn= 2^7
Ha, just figured out the solution on the spot!
