if it were b^2+b^2=b^2 you would say 3b^2-yes you would add the exponents.are they the same?......
if you had a question like b^2 *b^2 * b^2, do you add the exponents together and get b^6? what if you had the same exact question but involved addition instead of multiplication?

hypothetically if b= 2

2^2 * 2^2* 2^2 = 4*4*4
or the way you wrote it 2^6 or 2*2*2*2*2*2

are they the same?
