String theory combines relativity and quantum mechanics

String theory is supposed to be able to combine the two branches... which brings me to my question.........
There are two branches of physics, Quantum Mechanics and Relativity .... I say two branches because the are not compatible with each other ...String theory is supposed to be able to combine the two branches... which brings me to my question.....Does string theory really combine these two branches or does it break down in a sigularity? Please expain why?

Strings (M Theory) does 2 things that allow it to unify General Relativity

1) It is a theory of quantum gravity, gives a structure for the Graviton and a mathematical structure for the behavior of Gravitons that is compatible with GR

2) No it does NOT break down in a singularity. It sets a minimum size (about a Planck Length) for an physical structure. Thus, black holes have a finite size (A Plank Radius is a minimum) instead of shrinking to a geometric point. Same argument applies to the Big Bang the "nugget" of matter and energy that formed the universe had a finite size.

The mathmatical structure for M Theory is incomplete. We have the concepts but not the equations. Is it true? We do not know yet. Those concepts work for things that are larger than an atom and massive/high energy(GR)/ things that are smaller than an atom and low mass/energy (QM)/ Things that are smaller than an atom and high energy/mass (neither QM nor GR covers this case).

-nuclei
-hardons(mesons,baryon)
-quarks,leptons
-string theory
