Well, I like the weather to be little or no wind, overcast but the cloud ceiling above 6,000 feet above the ground. Strange, isn't it? Well, I own and fly as much as I can a tiny aircraft and when it is windy, it gets quite turbulent up there. When it is sunny it is also turbulent because the heat on the ground creates bubbles of warm air that, when they rise, shakes the plane.
But why 6,000 feet then? Ah, I live in Norway and if I want to fly over the mountains ... I must climb to 6,000 feet and since I am not allowed to fly that kind of aircraft in the clouds ... they have to be higher than that! :-)
Do you think I am weird? Let me take you on a flight over the Norwegian fjords and you'll understand why I just love it! ;-)
