IF they did. I'm seeing a lot of "evidence" both against and for the moon landing and honestly I just can't convince myself whether it was true or not. Why would they fake such a thing? Just for money or what?

The moon lander was detectable from Earth. Radio telescopes recorded it and tracked the Apollo 11 lander all the way there and back. People all over the world had the ability to track it, including the Soviets. Had it been faked, they would have been the first to scream foul and presented proof. The fact that they didn't is a strong indicator that even to them there was no denying that we had landed on the moon.

There is no evidence that it was ever faked. However, both scientifically and philosophically, its impossible to prove a negative. They didn't fake it. It was real. Think about crime. When crime is committedd by two or more people, they always catch the criminals because people talk. People talk easily. If it would have been a fake, the perputrators would have been caught! Thousands of people participated in the moon landing. It costs sooo much money and many people's careers were built around the space program. The reason why we can't go there today is because safety standards are so much higher now (OSHA) and policy makers want to privatize many goverment programs and government won't spend the money now days to chase dreams that can be fufilled by private funds.

But the crackpots who think it was faked seem to think that it was done to win the cold war and that NASA couldn't have actually sent anyone to the moon, which begs the question of why the Soviets didn't show that it was faked back then.

What I don't understand - The U.S.S.R. would have exposed SIX hoaxes and a seventh attempted hoax VERY QUICKLY if the moon landings and Apollo 13 were NOT real. I LIVED THROUGH THE COLD WAR. YOU DID NOT.
