What's the best metal to attract electricity

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-05-16] [Hit: ]
We say that they conduct electricity. One of best conductors is silver.Thats followed by copper, gold, aluminum, calcium,......
What metal can be used to attract electricity the best? I've heard nickel, copper, & cobalt. But I have no idea which would work better.

Metals don't "attract" electricity. Electricity flows through metals. We say that they conduct electricity.

One of best conductors is silver. That's followed by copper, gold, aluminum, calcium, and tungsten. After that is cobalt, zinc and nickel.

"To attract electricity"??? What does that mean? As in attract lightning? Practically any metal will do. All metals conduct electricity reasonably well, some better than others. You don't even need a metal to attract lightning. At those voltages almost anything will become a conductor. A nice tall tree will do nicely, but a tall "tree" made of most any metal will do even better.

The best conductors of electricity are superconductors; these offer zero resistance.
Many materials will superconduct when sufficiently cooled - most superconductors need to be cooled to within a few degrees of absolute zero, metals including tin and aluminium will superconduct. Somewhat ironically, gold will not superconduct - gold is a very good conductor at room temperatures.

In 1986, some ceramic based materials were found to superconduct at high temperatures - still around -90oC, so not all that high - but making the effect much more useful as liquid nitrogen can be used to cool the materials.

The simple answer to the best METAL conductor. Silver

Copper is the best electrical conductor of those 3.
Silver is even better (the best actually).

Copper
