Maths Ratio Question

The Ratio of williams age to lauras age is 3:2. william is 18 years old. how old is laura?
My answer was 12 because
18 divided by 3 is 6
so 6 times 2=12
is this correct?
if not could you plz tell me the solution and how you got the answer????

williams/lauras = 3/2
williams age = 18
lauras age = 3/2=18/x
lauras age = 12

W/L = 3/2
18/ L =3/2
L = 36 / 3
= 12
