You are then left with of course $16.50. Then subtract $0.90 from that and keep going until you cant anymore.......
Please either tell me the equations i need to solve for this problem, tell me how to solve this problem or solve it and show work! Either would be extremely helpful! I really have no idea how to solve this:( Well heres the problem:

Michael's Taxi Service charges $1.50 for the first mile and $0.90 for each additional mile. How far could Mrs. Kripe go for $20 if she gives the driver a $2 tip?

Thanks guys!!xoxo

-
Subtract $2(tip) form $20 = $18
now for the first mile its $1.50
Now we are left with 18-1.5 = $16.50
for every mile after 1st, its $0.90
So Michael can travel 18.33miles (16.5/0.90)
Adding the first mile, it will be 18.33+1=19.33 miles approx.

If she has $20 dollars and she will be giving a $2 tip she of course has $18 dollars left. Then subtract $1.50 for the first mile. You are then left with of course $16.50. Then subtract $0.90 from that and keep going until you can't anymore. Hope that helped
