well well well after all this bloody rain where are the obligatory hose pipe and other bans that we usually get

A Frenchman, landing on a BA flight to Heathrow in pouring rain, asks the air hostess in his newly acquired English: "Is this what you call, in English, raining cats and dogs?"
- "No Sir" answered the air hostess, "this is what we call, the summer!"
