But Im confused with when you are supposed to add. Please help!-its not foiling because the contents of the parenthesis are no being added. The parenthesis are there to show that those stay together so you would.........
How do I do:
(-3+i) + (-4-i)

I know when a problem is like:
(3+5i)(5-3i)
You can foil out the answer...But I'm confused with when you are supposed to add.

Please help!
