If it's zero degrees outside today and it's supposed to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold is it going to be

70 degrees - then tomorrow expect minus 70 degrees - quite a drop for under a day! This might be possible in Alaska, but I doubt it will ever happen here in the Lower 48. If you related it to, say, a comfortable 40 degrees,......
Just curious.

While this may be an interesting question, it is not valid - the question is, "Twice as cold related to what?" If you relate it to "comfortable" - say, 70 degrees - then tomorrow expect minus 70 degrees - quite a drop for under a day! This might be possible in Alaska, but I doubt it will ever happen here in the "Lower 48". If you related it to, say, a "comfortable" 40 degrees, then minus 40 might be possible, but that's still unlikely in most areas except in the dead of winter.

So bottom line, I would say it's not a valid prediction, just an exaggeration.
