Hurricane Irene is Hype!

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-08-27] [Hit: ]
This storm has shut down all transportation and airplane flights on the East Coast. It has also caused many people to evacuate, all over the east coast. It has weakened to a CAT 1 when it was forcasted to hit the Carolinas as a CAT 3! The North East is going to get hit as a tropical storm. HHMMM,......
Um, Yeah. It is not going to hit the North East as a category 2 or 3, or even 1! Its going to be a tropical storm. So WHAT if it is windy and rainy? This storm has shut down all transportation and airplane flights on the East Coast. It has also caused many people to evacuate, all over the east coast. It has weakened to a CAT 1 when it was forcasted to hit the Carolinas as a CAT 3! The North East is going to get hit as a tropical storm. HHMMM, SOUNDS LIKE A WHOLE LOT OF HYPE TO ME!! So we are all preparing for a few gusty winds over 40 mph, and some rain fall. That is the same as the average summer thunderstorm, WITHOUT EVEN ANY LIGHTNING! So excuse me but I think that they have cooked up a whole east coast craze out of nothing, and it is to late to call off any of the warnings, so they just keep up all of the stories, and forcasts of a bad storm, and if they just say that "well it is not going to be such of a bad storm after all", they will loose viewers, and their ratings will plummet.

I agree completely. Our house is in Rhode Island, one block from the water, about 15 feet of elevation. I hear stories about past hurricanes flooding our neighborhood, but this storm is weakening by the hour. I'm not losing one minute of sleep.

I'm convinced that it's all about the ratings. Plus, the retail economy gets a huge boost. Love t watch everyone buying up plywood, bread and water. People have an inherent and anthopological need to feel safe; and with that comes the need to first feel endangered, hence the false drama.

Fake.

You just outed the Weather Channel!

The difference between a hurricane and a summer thunderstorm are significant. Where a summer storm is over in minutes, a hurricane can take hours or days to leave an area. Sooo! Better be ready!

I know right? I love how the east coast users on this site are freaking out.
